SS1, 8pm Kick off

Predictions/thoughts ?

Can't see Newcastle getting anything although I would be very happy with a draw!

United were pretty crap against Blackburn but they rarely lose 2 in a row and usually come back alot stronger after a loss :n:

Reckon it will be 0-2 or even 0-3 United, especially with Rooney back and his record against us.

Maybe tonight will be the night that Ben Arfa gets a chance in the line up..

I fancy the magpies.

Uniteds midfield and defence are weaker than ever.

Well I hope the rumours aren't true about Fergie being the latest to be sniffing around Tiote to help fix his midfield

we will get smashed by at least 2 goals or I could be surprised and we manage a result think something along the lines of the arsenal result eariler last year

United 2-0 I reckon. Surprised UTD haven't signed someone like jack Rodwell yet - in my eyes he's pretty much exactly what they need defensively. Attack wise they're looking at Ganso from santos, reportedly. Newcastle need to sign a decent couple of players with whatever funds they have left to stay where they are in top half - think fatigue will effect in second half of season with size of experienced players in squad!

4-0 manchester even though they have a poor squad this season. FTM!

Try telling our Chairman that.

Wouldn't be surprised to see us get smashed tonight. Utd will be hurting from the Blackburn loss and we are just shit lately.

I was gonna post "I fancy the toon for this one", but thinking about it.. Hernandez and Rooney playing? They probably will score twice.. but I think it will go 1 -2 or 2 - 2.

I agree.

Do you remember last season when on the last MOTD they highlighted all the times Man U won games that season with late goals, the decisions that went for them and generally replayed the pivotal moments in the title race etc etc. And they said that (all them late, 85+ minute goals) wasn't luck, was the result of never giving up, determination and drive etc. I agreed with them.. but the jammy 1 - nil victories this season have not looked assured.. They really have been lucky this season imo and even more lucky that they are where they are in the table..

All imo ofc..

wouldn't say new team Bound more of a case of we don't have any strength in depth first team is ok but when we loose players to injury we never have anyone good

I love it when everyone goes on about old Trafford decisions and fergie time. Fact was last season united didn't get alot go for them they just built on a good defensive set up.

The issue has been for 2-3 seasons though with the side, united used to dominate games by getting on top of sides. The current midfield this can't happen and so as a united fan they've not even been that great to watch (bar the odd 8-2).

United making the champions league final last season really was flattering considering the squad and way played, this season the cracks are not being papered over though as more sides are going to win the game rather than get a draw.

Don't think even the most die hard united fan can say Newcastle didn't deserve that.. Were better everywhere. Superb.. Overtake Liverpool? Top 4 contenders?! :P. (Serious about the Liverpool one though).

LOL says about it on Wiki aswell,

'Demba Ba (born 25 May 1985) is a French-born Senegalese footballer who plays as a striker for Newcastle United in the Premier League, and for the Senegal national team. He has a fondness of Syrup, particularly Strawberry Syrup.'

Talking about his syrup addiction, I think its lost in translation. Sirop (syrup) in french is just a kind of thick diluting juice.

Was going to say anyone who has been to France would know that it's similar to a tinned ribeena.
