Canal street is funny tbh..

best place i've been for a night out really in Manchester.
42's is alright, but last time i went there I got my shoes pissed on, on the dancefloor.. So if you're into that, go ahead.

I think manchester in general is pretty pap for a night out, overrated imo.

42s, sankeys.

I'd stay away from canal street, dangerous place for straight guys... me and a couple mates ended up having to literally run away from a bunch of queers that wanted to rape us.

Tbh just get there and ask people (who look normal/decent) in the street wheres busy and where they recommend. Thats what i do when i go somewhere i haven't been before. Also a good way to break the ice with gash, but i'm guessing you're not into gash?

When I went, although it's a bit studenty, I ended up in a place called 5th Ave, was alright. Definitely for students though, think you needed a student card to get in.

BOOM.. here is where i come into my own :).. Manchester nightlife is my job.. as you're turning 18 i'd reccomend staying away from the printworks on a saturday, its all the oldies having stag and hen parties..
HMV Ritz has a night on called GOGO.. with is alright tbh, only student night on a saturday anyway.. £2.50 doubles + cheap entry.. (£5)

i'd 100% reccomend going to birdcage on a wednesday.. EPIC night, sells out every week and is just a laugh.. great music, cheap drinks..

orrrr... Sankeys on 14th Feb (valentines night) im running a Student Warehouse Party.. cheap drinks, £5 advanced tickets

drop me a message on here if you want guestlist to any of them lol...

Manchester Night Life is Shit! 42's and 5th Ave is full of students and nob heads that are up for a fight every time you bump into them, you sweat your bollocks off in there! Printworks is full of chavs as mentioned and is quite expensive. Tiger Tiger is probably the best place to go in my opinion :)

Let us know how it goes and whether you're ever gonna come back haha.

Edit: Ooh there's Deansgate Locks aswel, which is just boring!

As you're quite young, I'd probably reccomend going to somewhere where the Student night life is huge, leeds or sheffield perhaps?

Cheap drinks, cheap entry.. Sluts everywhere.

Leeds is a good night out. Another greebo club there I went to called the cockpit was a laugh but that has to have been 7 years ago now easy

Only been to 5th Ave 3 times, but I didn't see the slightest bit of aggro ONCE. Students don't/can't do aggro, they are daft students.
