How do i put a dvd on youtube and edit it?

I have a dvd of me doing a skydive and i want to edit it so it doesnt have the first 5mins of just talking on and i want to put it on youtube.

how/what can i use to crop/edit the dvd?
how can i get the dvd onto a file on the computer?
and how do i put it on youtube?

once you save the video youve edited, save it somewhere easy to retrieve it, the go on utube, click upload, browse you files for the vid u made, then select it:A:

Go on my computer, double click the disk, then it should come up via windows media player, then go onto 'rip' at top right of page iirc, then follow instructions :y:,

uploaded the video now but non of my pals can find it and also it wont play on my iphone it says "this video does not currently support iphone"
