If I feel like I need to snack, I have a drink of water.

Normally when you feel like a snack your body is actually telling you that it's thirsty.

ha no 'microwave' food isnt bad for you. Thats like saying oven food is good for you then cooking a pizza in it.

I cook all my rice and pasta in the microwave. Just look at the ingredients etc to see if its ok.

How is an apple slightly more filling than nuts? Surely it depends how many nuts you eat, and nuts are quite calorie dense, and pretty healthy. Depends on what he wants to achieve as well course...

I agree with dusher aim higher than what you want. Over 6 months you get gains but its mostly (if your start from scratch) your body adjusting to the massive increase in exericse and weight lighting ect. i personally found that i bulked up nicely size wise but the definition came a little after. Try pure whey protien powders or if your metabolism is good some carb/protien blends for rapid lean muscle and size gain ect.

I thought the microwave foods were bad because they are full of preservatives and salt to stop them spoiling etc. It's not the actual microwaving!

Also, they tend to be produced with cost in mind so you get like two bits of chicken in a chicken casserole and they aren't exactly large breast portions, more like cubed bit of thigh!

lately ive been dieting and eating less and moved over to fitness as opposed to BB, so i use a scoop of oats and a scoop of protein powder in my shaker with water as a snack between my three main meals. this makes it a bit more filling, eaten quickly and with little fuss.

have a jar of peanut butter a day instead of refined carb calories from pasta and rice. I assume you will be weight training 3x a week. So on your training days aim for 150g of carbs in the morning, then 250g of carbs within 2 hours of finishing training (buying glucose powder and adding 100g to a PWO shake is a good way of helping this) Then on off days do some hill sprints and have 100g of carbs in the morning only. This should promote weight gain but without the fat gains even people with fast metabolisms can get.

Any alternative rather than peanut butter? and im guessing your spreading it on toast or somethings not just straight out the Jar :ill: im training 4x a week maybe sometimes 5x 1 day including a cardio day.

Thanks for the help

I never really keep the same power always to change things around so my body doesnt get dependant on ingreidents.

I started on forgoodness shakes which you can buy from tescos or sainsburys etc, then moved over (mainly for cost and ease) to Reflex One stop (ithink) mainly protien BCAA mix, and then USN STS mucle fuel a mix of carbs and protien and then to Anabolic STS muscle fuel which contained an anabolic stack then ive just changed to USN's new Hardcore whey protien.

Another things you could try is casien. You body repairs more at night, basically casien is like a drip feed into your body of advanced protiens and last between 6-8 hours delivering protien into your system but the time it lasts an eve is brand dependant.

If you're finding yourself hungry between meals then you're not eating enough.

How many meals do you consume on a daily basis truthfully ?

Eat 4-5 good meals throughout the day with a few shakes in between. If you're hungry then add more to your meals. Drink more water between meals aswell. Snacks are usually because you are bored though, it's mostly a case of wanting it, not needing it.

A jar of peanut butter a day sounds interesting! :y: I dont get what you mean about the carbs though. Are you drescribing a clean bulking diet?

How would you suggest to consume 150g of carbs in the mornings? I struggle to finish around 80-90g at the minute.

Then are you saying all other meals at protein and fat only? I used to do this plan (with less carbs) when cutting.

A few of these have probably been said!

Nuts. Comples carbs, good fats
Couple of spoonfulls of peanut butter(dont eat the less fat ones tho as they have more sugar in them!!)
fruit. simple carb so try not to eat loads of fruits(getting ur 5 a day shud mainly be from veg)
homous with veg sticks, very good alternative to crisps and a dip, again a complex carb
I snack on flapjacks aswel, high content of complex carbs, good fats. I do a lot of cv so be careful with eating these if you dont as they are very calorific

Did someone also say an apple is more filling than nuts?

I dont think so as an apple is a simple carb and nuts are complex

Fook me dizzy, dont suggest eating 150g carbs in the morning, thas 600kcals. Do you realise thats 1600kcals of carbs your suggesting him to eat a day without knowing his training???!!!Or his goals???!!!

Im assuming hes drescribing a clean bulk. I think the logic behind it is your breakfast and your pwo meal are the most important. As your body needs to restock its glycogen levels therefore not much, if any of it is stored as fat because your body uses it all.

Im not arguing with the amount just how its possible to eat that much. Im just under 18stone and have a larrrrge appitite and I struggle with around 80-100g for breakfast and have around 130-150g PWO.

Man up!

No, quite honestly I have no idea how anyone would eat that amount either. I can eat an awful lot, but that would be VERY hard to do. Maybe adopt the same technique as a python, eat, eat, eat, eat then loaf around for a week and digest.

Its came to the point where Im force feeding myself, reaching etc. Not pleasant! So Ive got myself some of MP's weight gainer (trying it instead of the usual oats idea), having that with my PWO meal. So Ill be having 50g from the waxy maise starch, 80g or so with the meal and 40g with the shake. 170g of carbs PWO isnt too bad :y:

That's really good mate! You struggling to gain weight again?

Force feeding is never good though. Should be reserved for xmas day, new years day and parmo's only!

If you are going to drink more water, may I suggest that you don't drink very cold water, try room temp. I say this because drinking cold water or icy cold water WILL make you more hungry.
