Would you own one?
I seriously want to buy another Impreza or even an Evo 8, but my comminute to work, it would be silly to own either of those cars as the fuel costs would be crazy. Nor would it be cheap to have a run around and a Evo/Impreza.
I have already had 2 Clio's but always fancied a Trophy.
Be ideal for work, ok on the juice, decent performance looks and excellent handling.
Would I be daft to go back to another clio instead of a type r?

Nope, get one if you fancy it. I think they'll go up in value but only snag you'll obviously be paying a premium for one and they arent too much different performance wise from a modified 182 as you know

If you've owned a Clio I wouldn't really bother... let's be honest they aren't worlds apart from a regular 182.
Get something different - I don't know what though!

Bit daft having 2 cars, 2 insurance's, 2 MOT's etc and I dont want a car sitting at home, normally buy a car to be driven not to be used just at weekends if you get me?

This is true Cal.
I still have decent photo of mine/your Clio and still makes me wish I had kept that.
Not worlds apart unless its got a decent set up which this one has.

Yeah it is hassle, but realistically using an evo or the like as a daily with fuel costs as they are well...it's never going to happen :(
I would probably go for the Type R though, seeing as you've had the a clio before.

How about something 4 cylinder and RWD ? Caterham might be a bit much for the commute but I'm sure you could get a cheap early S2000 these days

I think trophys are cool, if you was a fan of clio's and little hot hatches i think it just mean you have had the best of the best, like if you loved 106 the best is a rallye that's why i got one :P

If I had to get something small, decently quick and excellent handling. It would be a clio...either the Racing Blue 182 or a Trophy.

I vote Trophy.

If I was given the choice between a trophy and an EP3 type R I'd choose the clio bu. as you've already had a 182 I'd go for the type r

What this man said - are you really going to notice a huge difference between a 182 Cup and Trophy on the road?
Go for an EP3 and enjoy reliability and the lack of belt/ dephaser changes. ;)

Full fat Inferno Orange 182 or a Trophy over a Type R (dislike the gearstick position :/)

Have you ever driven a car with the stick in the dash?
It's much much much much much better.....

Driven a Type R and a 182, and i find the 182 easier to hand, maybe im not used to it but after 5 laps round Brands i just couldnt get on with it :/
MiniGibbo

If anything on track it should be easier with the Honda as its right next to the wheel, hence why they lengthen race car shifters..
Think as you say you just weren't used to it.
AdamH

As above, 5 laps is not much around a track that lasts a little more then a minute...
On the road it could be a different story.. that was just my opinion and experience :)

add around 2.5k onto the average price an thats what youd expect to pay for a charged ep3, dont see them for sale very often though
to supercharge it yourself your lookin at a good 3k buyin everythin second hand...
