Hi all,

I recently had a severe bout of lower back pain, turned out to be a prolapsed/slipped disc. I was in agony and could not walk, spent Xmas and New Years at home lying on the hard floor recovering.

I've made good progress since then, well actually after the first two weeks I felt much better. However I still have some pain lingering and don’t seem to be able to over come it.

I am doing muscle exercises which do seem to help (pelvic tilts, planks, bird-dogs etc). I sparingly take anti imflams, don’t want to over do it.

I realise each case is different, but what advise do people have in regards to their own experiences? I haven’t found google searches or youtube much help. Advise is very contradicting, and sometimes quite scary!
I don’t feel my Chiropractor really discussed recovery in enough detail; I don’t fully know what I should be doing at this stage to further improve.

I’m only 27 and feel like my physical activities will forever be limited...

They will be... But don't let that stop you, main thing is not trying to rush things, stuff like this take lonnnngggg time,

Best advice is see your gp refers you to a better chiropractor!?

Edit- no pun intended..

I've popped into work a couple of times (desk job), ever time I go in it sets me back in terms of recovery. So Im off again now until Sat morning.

I plan to see my doc next week and get assessed, will do that :)

One video on Youtube mentioned people who suffer for over 6 months, only 50% return to work statistically... Then the surgery videos, OMG...
I know Im over reacting. But cant help but feel a waste of space.
