There was nothing wrong with the old ones and I think the new ones will be easy to fraud so will have to watch out for them!

are are not a certificate, they are now a receipt.

you should no longer be asked to produce a valid MOT certificate, if the database says you have no mot, then you have no mot, and visa versa.

The top one is the newer type? Looks like its printed on a piece of paper. It doesn't look professional like a "Certificate"

Why are they getting rid of the current ones anyway?

All on a database now, so its only there as a reminder to you so you know when to get another.

I remember the good old days where you just had to produce a certificate to the cops, no database for ANPR to check lol

You can check the MOT online, just need the mot number or v5 number to check!

it looks like its printed on a plain bit of paper cos it is, there is no point in faking one as its all on a database.

I'd have to dig mine out but they even say on them there not worth the paper there written on and a car is only roadworthy at the time of the test.

They've always said that

And they scrapped the old one for cost saving iirc

So long as it gets a pass who cares what the certificate looks like

seen one, it is printed on a piece of paper. Then you can imagine the greasy fingerprints on top. Haven't done any repairs on the car yet that you get slapped with £50 MOT + £50 labour then VAT on top of it. My brother effectively paid £220 total for a shock absorber. Just one, they didn't even changed the pair :S
