Ever fancied a Jaguar XJ220 but just not rare enough?

Enter the 1 of 5 Jaguar XJ220S - Built by one of the original designers himself.

Power is up from is up from 550bhp to 680bhp and the weight is down to 1080kg (400kg less)! On top of that this particular car has an uprated exhaust and ECU which takes it up even more to 700bhp meaning 680bhp per tonne! :fcuk: If that isn't enough, the whole aluminium body has been removed and replaced by a full carbon shell.

Up for sale at auction and is only expecting to fetch around 160,000 pounds (Where the fuck is the pound sign on a Mac?!)

My god I hope I win the lottery this week!

160grand?

Fucking hell.. That seems fairly fucking cheap for what it is.
(Although I'd have to sell the house to buy one myself like -_-)

Apparently it is Xj220S without the kit for whatever reason

Not going to go for a lot as they're terrible...

Elton John owning a normal one I think was to blame, ruined there value.

*Flak jacket on for quoting Clarkson

Yes, they handled and braked like a truck apparently but the lack of weight in the S totally transforms the car. I know they're ridiculously big (14 foot long?!) but again, the lack of weight makes the car feel like it should have done from the factory.

Engines too small..

The engine belonged in the metro, just a shame they never made a road going 6r4 :(

Yeh, there was a whole fiasco surrounding the whole car.

Meant to be a V12 4WD car, thats what customers put their deposits on. Then they changed the Spec to a V6 2WD and told customers that they had to pay more than the original price**

**All taken from memory so could be wrong

The general concencous(sp?) around the XJ220S is that "This is what the XJ220 should have been"

That's Strange I was always lead to believe they shared the same engine :detective:

They did, 200 to satisfy group B rules. Only in clubman spec with 250bhp though

Looks a bit too "murdered out" for me.
I'd rather have something more practical:

Saw this on PH last night while I was looking for an XJS!

I would! I remember Jag releasing the original 220 and fell in love with it then

I've sat in one, was such a let down. They robbed the parts bin at rover, the instruments, wiper and indicator stalks even the rear lights. Its like being sat in a really low rover 214.
But the outsides a work of art. Love em.

:(

Still enough to do this to modern lightweight V12's.

Rover should have just gone into making switchgear and ancillaries for other car makers haha

A 'normal' one went past me on the m25 last year. It was a thing of absolute beauty and I'm well pleased I got to see one on the road.
