Has just joined Newcastle for £10mil !

Outstanding signing for Newcastle. He's a great striker, scored like 20+ last year and 9 so far this year playing in a crap team.

Too bad he's on international duty in the African Cup but when he gets back, him and Demba Ba up front will be lethal!

Didn't expect a signing like this in the January transfer window and especially with how tight Mike Ashley is. Looking good for Newcastle at last, can make a real strong push for top 6 or better now ! :y:

Newcastle scouts are immense.

Cabaye = Quality

Tiote = Very talented

Ba = 'nuff said

This guy was on the radar of Arsenal, Spurs and (iirc) Sunderland tried to sign him, and failed. I am slightly envious of the geordies atm, their squad is pretty decent, and in a few years time they will playing european football no doubt about it.

On a side note, anyone heard about Ancelotti being offered Torres, Cavani, Pav and Berbatov?

Yeah I heard about that. PSG are loaded now though with their new owners. He's bank rolling Ancelotti. And he's looking for a striker, he tried getting Pato from Milan but the owner rejected the move because Pato is going out with his daughter lol. This is why Tevez's deal to AC fell through.

Excellent singing im buzzin!

To expensive last summer but such a good buy!

I have him on FM12, bought him at the start for 2011/12

Got 30 goals last season and has 28 in 28 this as a lone striker.

He is a quality player, better than ba on paper i think, but needs to learn the prem, plus he is a different kind of player.

EXCELENT DAY, I go on a blog everyday to check for transfer (nufcblog.com) and i never expected this !

I still cant believe we've signed him. I went on Sky Sports at the end of the day in work and saw we were closing in on him and now its gone through :D

If we can get Cissokho from Lyon and keep hold of Ba, Tiote, Colo and Krul then this will be a fantastic transfer window for us tbh.

I don't know who he is but he must be good to be new number 9!

Pato doesnt get on with Galliani though, so dont be suprised if he moves in the summer, possibly PSG, or maybe even City or Chelsea.

Tevez looks to be on his way to Inter Milan though, no doubt he will 'miss home' soon after he makes the move.

I hope we buy someone good come the summer, like a playmaker. Adam and Henderson just dont hack it.

A) Why would you want Cissokho when you have Davide Santon, who in a few years, will be a fantastic full-back?

and B) Cissokho is one to avoid...'cos Matt Stranger said so>

Cissokho is wank aswell, I have seen him for Lyon. Why did we go for Enrique instead of this Lyon man? Because Enrique is better, and he aint even the Spanish int'l fullback of choice!

I don't want him either!
We have enough full backs, if we are going to buy another one then it should be a top one to replace Simpson.

We need a centre back, a cover one or a first team one. Hope we get James Tomkins from West Ham.

Santon would go to right back and Cissokho as left back. Simpson is crap for most games. He actually seems scared of the ball. I've never seen a fullback stand off and allow players to cross the ball as much as he does.

Krul

Santon Taylor Colo Cissokho

Ben Arfa Tiote Cabaye Jonas

Cisse Ba

Williamson has done a good job covering for Taylor but if anything happens to him we are stuck with Perch again so yeah we could do with another centreback as cover.

Santon is a natural left back as he is left footed and that's his preferred position, wouldn't make sense playing him out of position.

From what i've seen Cissokho isn't that much better than Simpson so it's just a waste when we could pay abit more and get a very good defender.
As for Perch he is just plain shit, should get rid of him in the summer with the other deadwood, Smith, Gosling etc

What McGuire said, Santon can play both LB and RB.

Plus did you read that article? Cissokho is one to avoid.

Santon is right footed mate. Notice how he always cuts inside? We don't have a natural left footer in our team.

Not seen much of him since he went to Lyon tbh but if the article is right then maybe we should avoid him. I would still want a natural left back in the team though. We have Santon who always cuts inside and Jonas who cant cross with either foot!

Ja santon is right footed. Think he prefers RB but is happy playing left back :)

Great capture!

We do need a leftback as santons prefered position is rb & will take over from simpson no doubt.

I think pardew played this window very well with that capture and by playing it down saying he was only after a defensive player, avoided inflated prices etc
