Hi guys just joined the site!

Ok i know its a really thicko question but im obvouisly doing something wrong.

I want to remove my headlights - so i can spray the inside insert black.

Ive popped the bonnet.. undone the two 10mm bolts on the top, took the trim off under the headlight and undone the last 10mm bolt. Disconnect the headlight connector, Yet the headlight will still NOT come out.

Ive now gave up and thought id ask if im doing something wrong? Ive tried gentle, that didnt work, i tried harder and thats snapped the top plastic arm that one of the bolts goes through, therefore instead of risking doing more damage im here, asking you kind people...

Do i have to take the slam pannel off? :S or drag the whole bumper off?

Really sorry ive had to ask this... i know if i cant do this i shouldnt even own any tools.. hope its in the right section, let the sarcasm commense! x

I cant see anything / whats stopping it, going to have quick cuppa then have another go! Thanks for no pee taking comments :)

there is a white plastic slot that slots in the head light to help hold it in place just where the plastic trim slots in if u look you will see it but it is very tight but if you carefully try and pull the bottem of the light up first and then it will be wedged but you have to be careful you dont snap the top mount

its hard to explain there is a couple places where the light needs gentle persuasion to come out theres a hook on top which hooks on the slampanel this needs to be lifted up a bit as you pull out, its right below the top bolt and as said above there is a white bracket which hold the bumper and light on and it slots in to the light unit this is had to expain just need to pull it... lol

For a mk2 desire, do you have to remove the bumper or something? The lights seem to be too deep to actually come out, don't want to break them by just pulling them.

for the rear lights the bolts inside the boot front lights lift hood you should see two 10mm bolts above the light remove them then remove the lights wireing from the back and just twist the side lights the bulb comes out with the cable hope this helps
