As title really, the car is frozen white and has not had a wash in over a year! It's only done 500 miles, it has lived on the drive/garage, in British weather
It's not "minging" but far from acceptable!

The cars only had 1 wash since it was resprayed December 2009! So there isn't no swirls or defects

Were would I start with this and can anyone recommend any products I'll need

Thanks in advance
Craig

Thanks mate.
As for the washing I take it the 2 bucket method is recommended?
Should I jet wash it first as its very dusty, and I don't want to rub the grit into the paint.
Also final one what is the best wash mitt? I've seen the microfiber (noodle mits) or a lambswool?

Cheers Craig

yes jet wash off first and 2 bucket method and the lambs wool mit is fine

if it was dusty i would have thought that a light rinse from an open end of a hose would be better, tham the force from a jet wash.

I'll play it safe and hose it down then jet wash it then.
Thanks for your help!

I'd start with a snow foam then another then just a good wash with 2BM and a lambs wool mitt. Easy.

I ain't got a foam lance so that maybe a problem, I've got a jet wash, is it a case off just buying the adaptor for it with the bottle?

Yep. And some snow foam solution.

I'd add a snowfoam in at the start too.

i wouldnt jetwash to start.

you want to use a hose with no nozel so slow flowing and wet the car, id then use some citrus degreaser around the lower half of the car and leave it on for 5 mins. then rinse off.
then snow foam, quite low dilution rate so its bit thicker and will grab more dirt, leave on for 10 mins, rinse what u can off, then jet wash from a distance. so whats its liek after that but should be ok two bucket method wash the car then. start on the top half only and work all the way round the car going to abotut the door handle height or just below it.

rinse that off. whilst u do the lower half with preferably a different mitt, citrus degrease the wheels and leave it on there or a wheel cleaner (non abrasive stuff).

rinse all that off. if its all clean, with no contamination etc do another wash or clay bar then wash (that bit upto u). then jet wash off and dry with microfibre. polish the car, (id recommend poorboys white polish, think its diamond somethgin but dont quote me on that, or super resin polish etc) leave to dry and buff off, then seal the car, then wax!

products (budget dependant)

meguires gold class shampoo or
maxolen shampoo or
auto glym shampoo

decent microfibre clothes and a soft buffing cloth
super resin polish (autoglym) or
poorboys (better choice imo)

a citrus degreaser
snow foam
wheel cleaner
tyre shine
a wax - i use dodo juice

hope that helps!

Peronally I would start with :

Pre wash - Light rinse using jet wash (not too close), then spray G101 from bump stips down, side front and back. over tyres, wheels and in the arches.

Then the wheels like said by above,
Then two bucket method & rinse.

Then the rest would be up to you, depends what finish you want and how much time and effort you want to put in it.

Deffo give it a good coat of polish.

Make sure you use a decent clay bar kit, Go for the Bilt Hamber, imo this step is massively overlooked by lots of people and is vital for getting rid of bonded contaminants off the paint prior to polishing.

Have fun ;)
