hi just wondering how many miles other people get out of their new bearings. as i had some fitted a few months ago and theyve gone already. its makin a right grinding noise.

Its down to a few things mate,the amount of miles you do your driving style,the quality of the part fitted.I would suspect too the condition of your suspension components would come into it as well.

ive done about 1000 miles id say, driving normal as had few other probs so not been thrashin it. had suspension arms done year or so ago and link rods yesterday. its twice in 2 days now that ive had it back to garage with parts still under warranty that are fucked.

did you have the rite bearings fitted as ther are two types , 1 for flat seated shafts on 1 for taperd shafts if you get it wrong they will go almost instantly,
geting bearings from you reg no doesnt always work as in the past somebody may of changed the shafts , if you get them done again take out the shaft and have a look

Tell the garage your not happy(if its parts they`ve supplied & fitted):drink:

before going and making yourself look a fool infront of the garage, check ur wheels for buckles my mates 106 had a slight buckle in the front driver wheel he went thrugh 5 bearing in a month didnt know the problem, changed back to steels and has had the same bearing for about 5 months now

Same problem as above, buckled wheel was the cause, ended up changing struts thinking that was the cause, the garage kept blaming the cars ride height saying it was to low. So check the wheel and also check if it's got the right combination of shafts and bearings.

thanks for the replies, ill keep it in mind about the shaft bein changed think it has been before. the garage already have 3 bearings what the parts place sent today. it was fitted on the 9 november so still under warranty. hes said hes got to get mine out measure it see if same and fit correct one. ill mention about the different bearings cheers.
