Hi
I'm new to this forum and Im looking for some help! I have just bought a saxo without a cd player. I have looked at the wiring and there is no loom attached just bare wires! I have a red, yellow, grey and off white(pinky) colour wire. I have no idea what they are or what they do! I have bought a CD player with a loom from Halfords but I need help to connect! Any suggestions?! I would be grateful if someone could help me please! Thanks in advance!

Hey and first off welcome to sax-p.
And second how good are you with the tools?
It's pretty easy to wire up your head unit with just a crimp tool set and some crimping pliers. If your not too good i am sure you know some one who will help out.
The wires are as follows:-
Black - ground earthed to chassis
Blue - remote antenna (remote power on)
yellow - battery constant 12+ feed
red - 12v ignition switched feed
pink - illumination
basically you just wire up to the same as on the Halfords loom so yellow to yellow and red to red ect.
I think the Halfords loom has a orange wire this goes to the pink wire in your car.
If you need any more help just ask there are plenty of people on here who will help out (Maybe even do it for a couple of beer tokens.):drink:

Hi
Thank you so much!
What about the speaker wires? I know they are separate altogether. Do i just need to keep them unattached. I know the loom from the car and Halfords are kept separate; do I need to attach them?

yeah you need to attach them.
white ones - front left
grey ones - front right
green ones - left rear
purple ones - right rear.
Just connect them up as you do the others with crimp connectors. I am not sure on the Halford's speaker wiring though so i cant say what colours go to what. Could do with pics of the wires you have in the car and the wires you have from Halford's to see if you have the correct ones. Use www.tinypic.com upload the pics then paste the image code on here.:y:

Hi
Just looked at the loom from Halfords and it's exactly as you described.
Do I need to do anything with my battery? Cos I have read to remove the negative and only turn key 2 points to allow power?!
And this is why I'm not a technician lol :-)

No just link the wires up with the crimps and once that's all done turn your ignition on and turn the head unit on. Once it comes on tune it into your fave redio station and store it in the memory. Then turn off the ignition and leave for 2-3 mins.
Then turn the ignition on again and see if its kept the station in the memory. If its not stored in the memory you need to change the red and yellow wires around if it has stored it then just fit the radio into the slot.:y:
