Hola

right, my balljoint splitter always seems to push the rubber up and squeezes all the grease out or mashes the rubbers.

Is there a better way?

(tried nut on end and hitting it- Awful idea ) lol
Update

This balljoint will not pop up.
I've used the balljoint splitter (not bothered about rubber now)
And hit it so hard it's made the splitter not fit. It's opened it up
And balljoint remained in place not moved.
Heated it up n still the same.

Any other ideas? Lol
Got a feeling lca n whole strut coming off in a min.

get a huge leave bar and smash the shit out of the suspension arm while pulling down on the lever bar, way i've always done it anyway, no need for the ball joint splitter tool thing lol

I Prise the trackrod with a extension bar, and hit the strut where track rod goe's through.. and it shock's it out.. normally come's out easily and always been undamaged.

bottm ball joint, i jack the strut up slighty then just use a hammer and the bottom ball joint, track rod end, i again use a hammer and just give the strut a few hits where the track rod end sits, usally pops out itself :y:

get a slightly wider spliter fork, i never rip or damage the rubber with my splitter.

just hit with a big hammer where the track rod goes in also if it doesn't work like that try putting the steering in different positions and hit again

For the lower arms, i use a 3ft breaker bar, poke it into the chassis where the front wishbone bush is and then just push down.

Don't use a jack, makes it harder.

Trackrods, i use a decent hammer and get it done in one hit so the threads dont become damaged.

One mate gets a foot on the wishbone and applys weight whilst I place a balljoint splitter on the wishbone and hammer down on it(set up like a chisel and hammer if that makes sense) keep hammering down on it and WILL come out evetually. Make sure your friend keeps their weight on it to stop it popping back in place.

Perseverance is key!!!

i find ball joint splitters a bit useless. they always ruin the fuck out of the ball joint.

I use a 6ft weight lifting bar and lever it. If its really tough then i get someone to lever it down while i smack the arm with a large hammer

wouldnt come out, ended up taking lca out with strut then got some leverage and got some hammer time on the go and sorted it.
One of the hardest balljoints ive ever pushed out, usually comes out when ive pushed down lol

(this isnt on a saxo/106 or anything like it by the way)
