Hi all...
Ive recently removed a set of schmidts from my saxo to replace the corroded wheel bolts that holds the 3 pieces together... While they are off the car i intend to repolish them back up, and also repair one tiny curb kiss on one of the rears...
However ive got a few questions for the expert detailers..
Firstly with regards to the curbing... are the lips of the schmidts just polished with no clear coat / lacquer applied? I ask this as i intend to smooth the curbing out working up through the wet & dry grades to remove it.. however i dont really want to mess about with it if its clear coated as it will be a nightmare to strip the whole coating off...
If nobody knows, is there a way i can tell prior to sanding?
And as for the polishing itself.....
I have the current products ready to do the job...
Belgom Alu, Poorboys Wheel Sealant, Collinite 476S.. However am i missing anything?
I want the protective finish to last as long as possible with these wheels, to prevent me having to keep taking apart to clean lol... (as im quite lazy)...
Also have Poor Boys EX-P, Nattys Paste Wax & MER hybrid wax to hand if they are any use?

Also any tips on what to use on the car paintwork? Not sure whats already on it, however its beading like crazy so im not sure wether to leave it be for the time being until it looses its bead.
I thought i need to polish with some normal polish to remove crap, after washing, then a few layers of EX-p leaving as long as possible between buffing off, then sealed with 476?
Just want to make sure im along the right lines before having a go...
