I think it was last Saturday i was following a 4x4 down a dual carriage way. A massive stone flicked up and i saw it hit, what i thought was my windscreen.
Today i waxed my car and noticed this:

This is obviously the stone chip that i thought hit my windscreen. I have applied plenty of wax where the paint has been chipped away but you can see it has some surface rust.
I had my door re-sprayed last year and the body shop gave me the left over paint that has been pr-mixed. I still have it in the garage. They recommended applying the paint to the stone chip with a detailing brush and leaving it slightly proud then using a cutting compound, bring it back to flat.
I believe that isn't a problem, but what is is the rust. Can i apply the paint directly onto the surface rust or i apply Krust onto it first with a detailing brush, let it dry then put the paint on top of the krust?
Thanks
