Some of the info is useful I have to say and its nice to see someone taking them seriously for a change. However some of the figures listed are a bit wide of the mark - 145 bhp from a VTR unit with just a cam and vague "breathing mods"? I wish!

Depends who they speak to though, if they asked half the members of this forum (or LAD) they'd be fed such shite.

Yeah, don't think he does now. If he does, then the VTR at 145bhp is probably a typo/editorial error.

Seen it. Some of the bits in the article are wrong and some figures are a little wide of the mark. Not a bad guide overall though.

Not guilty! I didn't write this particular guide, although I did do the Saxo/106 one maybe 3 years back and helped with the first one written waaaay back in 2005-ish when S/C cars were pretty rare and 250bhp was a lot of poke. There was a recent 106 Rallye buyers guide in PFC (not PPC) that I wrote too.
Mankee.

I knew you did the old one, wondered if they had just copied it over lol.

Just found the article Ben Allen wrote way back in April 2005 on his website. The scans are huge and you'll have to change the URL to get the next page, but it brings back some memories:

I read the guide last Thursday after I woke out of surgery. It was quite good, the blue mk1 that was pictured was mint. Nothing new however, would of been useful if I had not heard of saxp.
