View Full Version : How To stop the exhaust burning the bumper

Has anyone got any ideas or know how. to move my exhaust left and keep it left , its starting to burn the bumper,

There isnt much play in it, it wasnt like that before it was in the centre.

Undo the back box from the centre pipe and re-just it:y: 2 min job

get it sitting right is only option. my old zoorst used to sit wedged up into recess but never did any harm

Ive made a huge burn mark in my bumper lol, But can a blow torch on the center section and bend it into place thats what the garage did to mine, now perfect

loosen the clamp holding the backbox on, adjust the tip where you want it to sit, then while holding it in that position, tighten the clamp and the exhaust should stay sitting how you want it

yeah just have a play about with the connection to centre section and the hangers/ rubber mounts. A couple of well placed cable ties can sometimes be your friend in these sorts of situations as well lol

my supersprint sits absolutely spot on, tonight i noticed though that its getting burnt, either im popping flames or its just soot.

also if u cant get it moved. could also cut a piece of alluminium to shape smoothing the edges and rivit on. looks ok and did the job

Don't do the aluminium thing, it looks shit.

Fit the exhaust properly and you'll have no problems.

Mine did the same so I got a long cable tie (or 2) and cable tie it from the left chssie rubber mout to the bottom right of the mount on the exhust and pull tight until its how u want it, you can't see the cable ties n it looks better :) or re-fit x
