every 2 days, you have to have rest days to allow your body to rest and repair to build muscle

i train twice a day!

it depends on what you are doing..

you can go to the gym every day

just not work the same muscle groups each day.

so legs one day, abs next, then the rest of the upper etc....

Don't know how accurate it is but my aunty (who is a total fitness freak) told me that its no good doing anything in the gym for over 45 minutes cos it doesn't affect your body as well as it would at the beginning. Hope I helped in some way x

erm thats rubbish!

as the sort of work you need sometimes needs the longer duration...

marathon training..

ive yet to see someone train for only 45mins to run a marathon because the rest is no good :P

Calm down Kelly! He knows what hes on about and i havent seen any rude posts.

Ive always been under the impression its not good to go every day if you are doing the same thing, as muscles need time to recover, but if you go every day and work different muscles then this should be ok

Kelly

I don't need to calm down lol i just don't need snotty people being sarcastic about something I was told that I thought might help. I'm no rocket scientist so I'm not going to get everything right all the time am I?

Anyhow now I know going to the gym everyday isn't too good for you, I can use that as an excuse lol

learn to take it on the chin. as i stated its the internet.

and you can use the edit to correct spelling from time to time :P

I am very blunt about fitness as I have been on many forum and feel alot of stupid comments ppl make can be potentially dangerous, when ppl talk about weights and suppliments etc...

i just come in to the point as its alot easyer :P

Even if you were a rocket scientist, id still not expect you to know about the gym....id expect you do know about rockets...

Itsafast world is an athlete and knows his shit, im sure he doesnt mean to come across the way he has

first of all, kelly your right. fitness instructors advise regular 30 - 45 minut workouts frequently (every other day or every day switching muscle groups). your body has less benefit after that time because the muscle contraction is very limited. but go on, somebody witty say "thats bullshit mate" but please bare in mind that actually, its not. no matter what you say.

Gym everyday is possible, i know ppl who do!! however not for the untrained individual, the programmes need to be desined perfeclty with correct loads & muscle groups worked. It is very very easy to over train if you train every day, day on day off is best, thats what i woudl advise... or 2days on, 1day rest, 2days, 2days rest. if this is followd usually it is desined so it is resistance, cardio, rest, resistance, cardio. 2 days rest.

sound familiar oz... it will do LOL

followed up by comments from westy (that you can train daily etc..... which are correct as he knows what he is doing.),

the 45 mins as ive stated it is not true, it depends on the individual, U cannot say nobody should train for more than 45 mins as this is not good for you> you are making statements about collective training rather than accessing each individuals needs and wants from a routine.

plus you need to work the body beyond a threshold to improve it!

this is a very valid point! Eg, if you have never done any exercise 45mins of cardio work at an approx HR of 60-80% will be near on impossible... on the flip side if you have been training for years 45 mins at that intensity may be far to easy... everyone is an individual & thats how things need to be treated.

lol at least we agree there, altho we have different ideas at times, im sure like me it drives you crazy when people spout utter shite about fitness and training

like said the dont go over 45 minutes is very random. as you safefast do duration trainning thats no good, but when doing body parts obviously thats totally different. two body parts, half an hour each, average four exercises, intensly, its time to leave the gym. depends what your doing
to the question, already been answered. everdays fine along as you dont do the same thing muscle group
