Guys,
can't unlock the drivers side of my 106 at the moment. Could this be that the lock has frozen or more likely that I need a new lock?
Have tried pouring boiling water over both the key and the lock, same outcome. They key turns in the lock slightly up to a certain point, then no further. Had no luck trying to unlock it with the pin inside either.
Cheers,
Alex.

You can buy a tiny can of lock de-icer from halfrauds which has a tiny nozzle to spray some de-icer shizzle into the lock itself, worth a try. Cheap and always handy to have :)

Used to work a treat on my mk2 golf, i (stupidly) washed in when it was cold and all the locks froze!

surely heating the key up might work?

forgot about that :y:
reminded me of when mate of mine had to heat the key up with a lighter for his mk1 caddy

Had no luck trying to get this open. Tried lock de-icer and loadsa WD40!
What are my options? Get a new lock?
My fob doesn't work (water damaged) but if I was to get a new one, could the car be unlocked this way? By that what I mean is, even though the key doesn't work in the door, could the remote still activate the lock mechanism?

I have exactly the same problem!
My drivers side lock is frozen - tried spraying msot of a can of de-icer fluid in it but had no luck...
tempted to find a hair dryer and point it at the lock for a bit see if it works...
