Snow and my saxo...

Well as anyone can clearly see today - it snowed a ridiculous amount overnight. However it has also frozen my drivers side door shut.

I can open my boot and my passenger door with the key, however when I try to turn the key to the open position on the drivers door the key barrel wont turn (yet it will turn the opposite way as if to lock the doors?)

When inside my car the handle will pull but gets stuck in the fully open position unless i push it back, and the little lock indicator that moves up and down on the door is frozen stuck aswell...

Is the a case of literally just my door being frozen solid? Or do you think the lock barrel has given up?

Looking for discussion - has this happened to anyone else? Thanks!

If it turns out to be frozen, make sure you give the lock and door mech a nice spray of wd40 / ac90 as well as the door rubbers. It'll prevent anything freezing up in the near future.

I was thinking of pouring some warm water over it but I was a bit worried that it might re-freeze and make the whole situation worse...

Tried heating the key with a lighter and inserting it - no luck.
Sprayed loads of wd40 and de-icer in the lock but no luck either...

Thinking of taking it to a garage to get the door panel off to look at it better if it doesnt open again in the morning.
