squeaky clutch and knocking gear change

52 plate saxo desire 5door, the clutch squeaks when it passes/reaching biting point. I looked at the linkage from the clutch cable and other than a spot of rust theres no damage and the rubber bushes are intact, any ideas for quick fix or if it is an indication of something more serious?
Also, as the clutch reaches the bite point and the engine and gearbox are under load, i hear like a clunking from the gearbox (i think) im thinking gearbox mount but where exactly do i start? I dont have a full ramp just jacks and axle stands

The screech will probably be your clutch release bearing which is a gearbox off job, not sure about the knocking though..
