View Full Version : Running without Lambda's?

What's the danger (if any) of not running any Lambda sensors? Am I just going to over fuel massively?
On a 3-plug Vts.
Engine warning light doesn't come on strangely...

yep overfuelling, lumpy idling, misfiring and probablies hesitation on accelerating

1. It'll basically be fucked
2. Why would you want to?

Cars not going anywhere, just need to run the engine for a bit tomorrow. As long as it not going to fubar the engine whilst it idles for a while.
Cheers

Didn't have any lambda's on the 8v for years.. Was fine.
Also don't have any lambda's on the 16v, and that's fine.. I had lumpy idle at first, but it was the temp sensor.. idles perfect now.
Only not running them.. as I bought a single-plug engine but needed to use a 3-plug loom, so didn't fit.
But yeah.. it'll be fine

I have ran no lambda sensors for about 6 months on a 3 plug vts, it runs fine apart from slight over fuelling, and it's a bit lumpy on idle but I think that was because of lumpy cams, not lambda

i'm not using a lambda either. the only thing is the over fueling. no running problems at all. and no eml

I'm only running a clean air lambda and it runs fine. Wouldn't say run it without for ages though

how did you manage that only lamba sensor did not fit from 1 plug engine running it on 3 plug there is several plugs that dont fit?

i did it to a vtr and got two jack plugs on inlet dont fit dont even have a wire there, oil temp and level, coil pack but all you do is break a little bit of the plastic away inside top right half square in corner that will fit then alternator but i just got one with a jack plug as my vtr one did not fit my loom, injectors just swaped over plug rail lol ideal way is i should of got a phase 2 engine then it would of plugged strate in as the 1.1 loom is exact to the vtr phase 2 loom not a difference ow well its nearly there now just waiting for my ecu to be sent back as its getting unlocked and then alternator and then pull my rear arches so i can fit my rear wheels on ;)
