16v fuel feed/return

Just put a 16v in my XSi, but unsure which is the feed and which is the return on the fuel rail. One goes in the ecu end of the rail, the other is just next to it but goes in the bottom of the rail.

I'm guessing the latter is the feed, but want to be sure as i'll probably have starting issues anyway, so want to be sure this is correct.

the one closest to the ecu is the feed in and the other closer to the passenger side is the return

From tank .. goes in to the regulater on the fuel rail an return is the other end of the rail

Both of them go in on the ecu side, one on the end of the rail and the other on the bottom between cylinders 1 and 2. The fuel regulator is on the gearbox end of the rail. That's what it looked like anyway..

In all fairness, I only had a quick look at the weekend, and I work away in the week so can't have another look til the weekend. Cheers for the held lads! I've got a haynes manual at home, hopefully that'll shed abit of light on it!

the one in my pic marked with tippex is the feed in. the return is an inch or two further along

Hmm think mine's slightly different to that! Cheers for the pic anyway, some food for thought!

from the way you've described your rail it does sound slightly different. where the return goes on to the rail its not on the bottom. its level with the feed in, just a couple of inches further along. you can't make it out in my pic as its too dark. this pic was taken from the driverside/ecu side btw(grey plug is the map sensor)

Hmm it's irritating me now, want to go home and have a ganders!

On the end of the engine bay fuel lines, where they connect to the interior ones by the servo...one has a green fitting and the other has a white one, colour coded maybe? They're just the simple push fittings which you put jubilee clip over the pipe to secure.

On a similar note...i'm going to replace the Engine bay fuel lines as mine are looking abit worse or wear.

Anybody know how you undo the bulkhead fittings? They have a few flat sides so unsure if they are threaded or are a simple push fit..

mines had to be lengthend as the 1.1 lines were a bit short. iirc they were push fittings. and some jubilee clips just to make sure they wouldn't come loose
