Aye up,

Newbie here, you boys will hate my car and what I'm doing to it. Using it only for trials (off road skills events).

Its a 1.4i SX and I need bigger wheels/tyres on the front. I need grip and NOT low profile. Was thinking about Pug 106 Rallye wheels (the white steel ones.) Only want 2 on the front, will they fit the Saxo??

Other mods to come:

Cut bottom 4" off front bumper, fit sump guard, and raise suspension up for better clearance. I'll post some pics when done, it'll be the Uly Betty of the forum :geek:

I'm confused, says sxi in title, which is a corsa?

Then you say 1.4 sx?

Then you say you want to put rallye steelies on to a saxo?

:S

No hatred from me. I love motor sports of all kinds. Rather a time attack car than some chavved up 1.1

Ur right to be confused, I don't even know what it's called, but I know its a Saxo with a 1.4i engine and an SX badge on it.

Cheers guys for the help:clapping:, thats great news, just need to find a pair now. What tyres could I get on these rims 155/165/175/185's ??

just put better tyres on what you have
the size does a lot less than actually having bigger rims

plus having odd size front and back will make the handeling different to all 4 the same so having more front grip isnt nessecerily a great thing if you have shitty tiny tyres on the back youll then just get the arse stepping out

Wont be an issue, as its all on grass & mud mainly 1st and 2nd gear. Want decent tread tyres on the front, rears can be original wheels as need minimum resistance on trailing axle.

Vid here from last Sunday's event to give you an idea.

Not allowed any tyres other than standard road, thats the skill, trying to get where you can on standard tyres. Which tyres on the 6j steelies will rub the arches?

185/55/14 is pretty much as big as you can go without rubbing

If you only want two save yourself some money and get two mk1 VTR spare steel wheels from a scrappy, very similiar if not the same as rallye s2 wheels at a quarter of the cost. They might need the rings knocking off from the bolt holes if you are using steelie wheel bolts though

Well, in the end went for VTR alloys. Got 3 off Ebay with decent mix of tyres.
1 @ £10.50, 1 @ £7.20 and 1 @ £3.60. :clapping:

So £21.30 for 3 x alloys with tyres, nice n cheap.
