Will a Vts axle fit on a 2001 desire? Need to know asap so I can either get one or another 1.1 for my mot, as I am raging to find I will have to wait another week and a half to get out in my car :wall:

of course san. need the brakepipes and handbrake cables changed aswell. has yours failed because of the axle?

Aye man it did fail raging! haha! But aye thinking about the vts axle cause it will give me alot better braking aswell so will see what the boy at the garage says ha

Its better yes, but most braking is by the front brakes!

Is your desire a 3 stud or a 4 stud?
vts axles are 4 stud, so if your's is originally 3 stud... you will have 3 stud at the front.. 4 stud at the back

any axel will be the same from 1.1 to 1.6, the only difference being the torsion and anti roll bar size in the larger engines, but the only part of the axel you ever need is the main beam as thats the part that wears on the 2 end shafts and causes play, you can use your own swing arms with new bearings and your own bars if you need!!

if that vts at the scrappy is a red mk1 its ma mates old car. get the front brakes off it aswell, they're nearly new. infact just take the front bakes anyway

edit - if it is my mates old one, its an S reg vts missing the front bumper(i have that) with no interior and my old 1.1 engine in the boot
