alright all saxo heads, this is the first attempt at a track car.. any input welcome but contructive criticism lol

got this saxo for cheap and me and 2 mates have plans to make it into a track car, for a buget :A:

lots of plans for it but so far we have just started. stripped it, and fitted a manifold and down pipe as the one before was fuckkedd these are just standard replacements from the junk yard. nothing other than starndard so far :bored:

the car isnt that bad, just got to remind ourselfs we got it so cheap lol but we can manage to get the welding done for free as a mate is doing it and soon as thats done can get an mot :fcuk:

anyway.. we dont know shit how to track a car or whatever, if u saw my newbies thread you will understand lol but just thrt ill get some pics of the car up for now. it is a slow moving project atm as the funds have been very low recently

As long you make sure the brakes are upto scratch and the engine isn't pissing oil out then it's good to go on track already.

Some new discs and pads and some half decent tyres should be your first purchase, then give it a full service before its first outing.

You don't need a caged, throttle bodied monster to go out on track.

Copy cat ;)
Looks like a good starting point mate. As above sort the brakes and tyres first then suspension however I flaunted those rules good and proper!

Yeah we need to get an mot sorted and the welding will be getting done at the same time soon as we sorted that it will be suspension, tires, c5 steel wheels (actually alloy) and brakes. Don't think there is anything else that is a real must anything after that is just extra Shiz, like exhaust, cage.. Witch I'm sure we will do but it's just not a real need to get on a track :)

little bit of rust on the boot just wondering if ppl thrt it was a big deal. plus dont think you can see on the pic but on the right side there is actually a little hole and can see through to the ground :err:

was also wondering what a cheap brake upgrade would be, i hear the pug 407brackes are a good cheap ungrade but just wonding if anyone has used them or if they can recomend anything else?

so from the boot rust, checked under the car quickly and found a load of rust :wall:
the car will be going for an mot with a mate and he said he will try sort the important bits out, so hopefully should be ok but its just shit

would take the wheels off to have a proper look but lost the key for the locking wheel nuts :clapping:

its all not really going as smoothly as we would of preferred so far lol but oh well bit of hard work and time we should sort it

btw is there a way of taking the nut off without the key and without getting a garage to do it? long shot but thrt ill ask?

Yeah a socket that fits over it usually gets them off but it can get stuck in the socket so you'll need some heat to get it out.
Regarding the rust, I'd check the arches too if they are any holes with a hammer - the rust inside the boot could be patched up but the stuff on the driver side just looks like surface rust, atleast round the window and higher up the arch
