Okay, So! little history, my car started popping and smoking lots, at first i passed the smoke off as bad weather and the popping as a coilpack got a new coil and i thought it fixed it, (still there).. then i started getting mayo in the oil cap, Last week me and my grandad changed the headgasket and checked all the valves etc, they're all in good nick and it all went back together great :) thought that would fix the popping but its still there.. sort of sounds like a boxer engine? it pops slightly if i rev it up and then let it run down to idle again, its lumpy when i sit at traffic lights and sometimes when i start the car the revs jump down to about 300 - 400 rpm then jump up again.. sometimes it does this more than once? and when im driving occasionally when i dip the clutch the revs go to idle speed and then bounce about abit between idle (800rpm ish) too about 1100rpm... another thing is if the engine is cold if i start it and tap the throttle it misfires repeatedly for awhile..? im going with some sort of sensor, ICV or maybe timing isnt correct? Any ideas would be appreciated :) cheers!

Take your lambda sensor off mate & check the colour of it.It should be a white/chalky colour if its black then you have an overfueling issue, hence the popping noise from the exhaust.
