Ok i went to a bodyshop 2 weeks ago and he said he will not try to fix my rear quarter panel unless i get a new one. So i have a VTR i have breaking and wondering how will i get the panel off? do i need to just cut the panel off?

whats the problem with it?

get a pick of it up.

mine had a nasty dent that looks as if some one tried to knock it back out with a toffy hammer.

we didn't put a new 1/4 panel on we hammered it back so it were sor of the same level. knock it back out slightly. bit of p40. sanded. bit of p38, sanded and some green stopper, now you can bearly tell.

and we're not body shop people. was done at home ect.

but yes you will need to drill the spot welds out. or you can i belive get this panel as an aftermarket new panel

Sell it non genuine quarters are wank to fit and as said above labour would be more than car is worth then you have prep and paint costs on top. Put the money into a new car mate and cut your losses

ok ok in that case strip it, remove seam sealer and start drilling spot welds to remove a quarter. o wait yours is a vtr, it will have rounded arches , not recomended to use a secondhand quarter because of the work involved anyway.

price a non genuine quarter

I would probably fully kit her if i can get the quarter panel off my VTR as i have the half kit on my car allready, worth a try because at the momment the VTR is just collecting dust. So do i just drill the spot welds out? and do i have to drill all the way down pass the front window?

cheers mate il have a proper look at the Vtr this week as its worth doing i think the bodyshop said if i would get a panel he would paint and fit it for £300 so il try and get a friend to paint it and see where it goes from there :) cheers guys :y:

Honestly mate you have no chance. There is that much sealer and crap used you will bend it and damage it taking it off. If you really want to do it then get a half panel and get that put on. I can get half panels at work for 15 quid but they take agers to fit due to them being non genuine.
