dont know if anyones actually bought and fitted one of these before, but after driving my parents car for a week as mine was in for repair, I was surprised at how comfy an arm rest could be whilst driving/sat in traffic etcetc.. so got me thinking about fitting one to my vtr..

has anyone tried these before? are they worthwhile? seem a reasonable price to me but not sure how they'd fit cos as soon as you move one of the seats surely it will fall off? anyone got pics of one fitted?

At the bottom of the arm rest you`ll see a screw hole,it you were to put a self tapping screw into the plastic trim of the seat each side it should be ok.
Might get 1 of these myself.:drink:

But if you were to screw it into the seat plastic part, when you come to slide the seat back and forward surely you'd be screwed?

come on people you should know it will be shocking by the first few words "universal" means ones size fits none. Bet it squashes tight against the side of the seat etc.

Okay then scrap what I said & get 2 L shaped brackets, screw 1 end to the armrest then the other end fix to the floor of the car.

It'll be guff.

I wouldn't trust a full can of Coke in that!

Universal = fits like crap.

I think you would be better off having a go at making your own up to be honest i think even if you did get that to fit it looks kinda flimsy!

pug/cit apparently did an optional extra, though whether this was true, and whether any actually exist is un known,

had one in my starlet, was ok through traffic/motorways, but got in the way when driving in anger

I had a thought about this, if the sheets of metal that you use to rasie and secure it were long enough, you could look at bending them so that they go under the seat runners, secure the runners and that would clamp them in place? Not sure if it would work just a quick thought.

I'm pretty sure they did do an armrest for the Saxo as I've seen alot of European guys with them.

Will try to find a picture.

Edit: Found some photos:http://www.forum-auto.com/saxovts/section46/sujet262012.htm

Looks like it mounts underneath the seat runner/mount.

1 the fixings get in way of some one sat in the back of car. dissapointing to lose space. 2 when you move the seat you the armrest will not correspond- not exactly.:wall:

Sorry for reactivating this thread. Did anyone succeed? This armrest with the metal brackets I had in my PUG 106. It worked well. [http://www.kamei.de/res/dnl/kamei/en/Mittelarmlehnen_en.408.pdf] But, can I be sure it will fit to my Saxo too?

Ryanoo

That link leads to the main site not the product mate. If it fits a 106, chances are it'll fit a saxo.

ichgebgas

Oh, sorry. The link is for product pdf, but the site seems not to alloiw direct links. And attachment are not possible here. So, see that link: http://www.kamei.de/innendesign_en.html The first entry is about Armrests.
