anyone used yokahama AD08

my 888's are running low on the front, i tried to get a price from my supplier on some A048's but he cant get them, yoky said to ues the AD08's instead and im tempted as there only £55 each

anyone have any reviews on them compared to the 888's ??

I used to run a set on my Teg for the road. Good on the road but nothing compared to 888's or A048's on track.

Pretty similar to Bridgestone RE010 that were standard on Integra's, I ran those too.

All tyres are going through the roof atm.....I just paid not far off £300 for a pair of A048's. Must be mental!! lol

i had a feeling they were more a road tyre than the 888's

i need all the grip i can on the front to stop them spinning so i think ill stick with the 888

195 50 15, they rub a little on the back and on full lock at the front but the grip is awsome

ive been tempted to go to 205 on the front with spacers

Mate of mine uses them on his EP3 - he rates them, but finds they tend to go off after a few laps, like most road tyres.

I ended up going for Federal 595 RS-Rs instead - those who've switched from 888s/ A048s seem pretty happy with the value for money.

a cheaper tyre is always good but im more worried about the grip over the cost, the car doesnt do many miles but NEEDS grip

The RS-Rs are marketed as a track tyre, so should offer more grip than AD08s. Doubt they'll offer 888/ A048 levels of grip, but going off the reviews I've read, they're apparently fairly close.

595's are what Im going to get as my Road/ Wet tyres as they're better than 888's and A048's in very wet conditions BUT they're not actually that cheap anymore....used to be around £70 each but they've gone up to the £100 mark now. Still pretty good value though.

888's are about £115each ish if you search and A048s are £150 ea. If I hadn't managed to buy a pair of new Yokos off a mate I wouldnt have paid the £600 for a set. Love them though!

Ive used all three....888's, A048s and 595s....as I said above, they're better than the Toyos and Yokos in VERY wet conditions, not quite as good everwhere else but a damn good substitute. :y:

Castle Combe saloons have to use road tyres and the front runners were all on AD08 last year.

Not to say this is a useful comparison with 888s etc. but within what you are allowed, they went for those. It at least answers a question vs T1Rs or other road tyres to some extent.
