I walked away with an airbag burn on my left wrist, bruised and shaken. Police said they had never seen anyone walk away from an accident that bad. I'm just happy I did...and it taught me a fucking valuable lesson too.

I'm just happy I'm alive. Lift off oversteer fucked me up and I over corrected.

However, I don't drive like that any more at all. I well and truly learnt my lesson, save it for the track!

About 80-85. No drivers door still opened, was the only part of the car that was intact.

What worries me is that a Saxo and 106 handle really well and can guarantee that prior to the crash the op was saying they wanted something faster.

Stick to the low powered cars if you make this much of a mess of one of these.

I've been reaching some speeds you would ever dream of, just for fun. On a track, and German motorways. Lift off oversteer on a 1.4, please kiss my ass because that's just deathwish 101, on public roads no less."Guardian Angel" is an understatement. This, is for you:

Right, I was young and stupid and I made a mistake. It was 2.30 in the morning and I was coming home from work. I well and truly learnt my lesson and I don't drive like that anymore.

Btw, I don't know you, most people on this site seem to be alright but you are a fucking cunt. I actually thought that this might show people what can happen when it goes wrong and maybe make them drive a bit safer, but once again a keyboard warrior appears just to be a prick. If the lad had come on saying 'Oi ladz luk at dis, i crashzd ma 106 n med a r8 mess init, gonna get a gti dis tym cos ma last 1 wunt qwik enuf' then yes, I would agree with your response!

However, he didn't did he? He came on, posted pictures of a nasty crash which he was lucky to walk away from! He admitted he was young and stupid and drove like a prick, he understands he was lucky, and he has said he has slowed down and learnt his lesson. Why jump on his back? Serious E-warrior mate and you need to calm down! You very rarely have a decent input into saxp other than slating people and trying to cause shit.

OP, very very lucky to walk away from that mate :y:

Christ you were lucky,as regards saxo`s though & their airbags not deploying in a crash,I was in a scrapyard today & 5 saxo`s(written off)had a notice on the side saying the airbag had been deployed. So they do go off(sometimes)

28th February 2012, 07:54
You sure are very luck to walk fine after what I could imagine is a horrible crash and considering the number of flips you and the car went through together at that.

I remember having caught in a traffic jam because there is this red car who bumped into what they would consider as a mysterious danger spot which seems to lure and reel in unsuspecting victims in the wee hours of the morning.

Omg look who's all butthurt and will rather have condescending opinions. Just be glad you came out of it in one piece. I remember a certain thread where a 106 driver killed his passenger. The opinions were going towards the exact opposite, and there's no redemption for that guy. Don't wish for what you have no idea about.

For once in your life will you shut the fuck up and quit being a prick! :wall:

Fuck youuuu, see above  I have no compassion for boyracers, play with matches: sometimes you get burned. The more they get priced out of driving the better, makes for safer roads.

Must be hard getting that big old noggin through our regular sized 'idiot' doors. Tool.

Manu
28th February 2012, 11:59
Shut up and keep being thankful, this thread is not about me as far as I am concerned. Be honest with yourself and admit you did have to expect a bit of stick posting that story on here... And to all of you calling me a cunt, ask yourself: you all see some boyracers from time to time, do you think "cunt" or "lad" every time someone drives like a tit around you... And furthermore, don't you ever wish they crashed in some remote place because "that will teach him/her".

Tool.

Not sure if you're in a position to use such language to be honest.

In one hand, it's really nice to hear you got out of there with barely a scratch but on the other hand you were on a joyride at 2 in the morning, you played and lost. You're now part of the statistics that make my premium go up. Thank you very much.

So bloody lucky. I'm sure it goes without saying that you are thankful for the opportunity to be able to look back at these pictures and learn from your mistake.

With regards to the door, I crashed my Quiky at about 25 mph. pushed both wings back so the doors wouldn't open. How yours managed to stand up to that I can't even fathom.

the rear n/s arm was flapping about like fuck. I never got a chance to find out exactly what caused it,as my insurers disposed of my car before I even put a claim in so I lost my car, some personal effects and all the parts on it. Had to sue my insurers.

Nah man, nothing apart from a sore ankle. I walked out the car and was pretty much fine (got some seatbelt burns though). Doctors were surprised I was in one piece.

That's well out of order, hope you got some money for your troubles.

Yeah, worked in swings and roundabouts. I was taken to court for dangerous driving, and even though loads of witnesses testified to me driving normally -including the guy I crashed into! - they still gave me points and a £750 fine. I wanted to appeal on loss of control through mechanical failure, but couldnt prove it because the insurers had approved disposal of the car. Sued them, and got enough money to pay my fine and get a new car, sort of worked out in the end
