My mate is thinking of removing the fog lights on his VTS bumper and was wondering if anyone could give him some advice on the best way to do it?
also, how much would it cost to buy a bumper with the fog lights already removed?
something along these lines:

I did mine the slightly bodge way by selotaping a plastic backin over the back of them and filling it up with fiber glass paste then sand/filler/ ect ect
the way that is better is to Plastic weld a peice of plasic over the holes then a lick of fibire glass/filler ect like this >> http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/lofiversion/index.php/t143756.html
Mine turned out like this

you cant buy them already smoothed, all vt bumpers have fog lights as standard.
Best way is to plastic weld them, i myself would leave it to a professional tbh
i would imagine doing it that way above ^ with just filler and fibreglass would just crack over time, which would result in a wasted paint job of a bumper considering it couldve been done properly the first time round

I'm doing mine at the moment, Plastic welded the fog covers from my 1.1 bumper into the vt one and then filled over it.

Thansk for reply guys :y:
how easy is it to do the plastic welding ourselves, and where would we get equipment as that seems the to be the best option as we don't want it to crack overtime lol.

Just use a soldering iron and melt the two bits of plastic together. I taped my fog covers over the wholes first to keep them in place.
Here's a pretty good guide.

I cant see it would be that difficult to do it really, but like LSO said I would imagine it would crack after a few months especially in the winter on bumpy roads.
