Proper England player, plays with his heart on his sleeve and always gives 110% shame its took so long to get into the team.

There has already been a 'Gerrard should have got it ra ra ra'. But he played (poorly) for 2 hours on Sunday. Whereas Parker had a slightly early bath on Sunday and has next weekend free now.

I've been very very impressed with Parker at Spurs after being skeptical about us getting him.

He also looks like a classic English player imo lol.

He was in the team 8-10 years ago. He screwed his England career when he went to chelski. Went from chalrtons captain to a bench warmer.

Who cares?

Its for a friendly game well probably lose. Then Harry will pick his own man anyway.

Might just be temporary, the new manager may wish to install someone else.

Personally I think Gerrard should have it for the Euros if he can recapture his form now he's back to full fitness.

Scott Parkers' not that good anyway, he just runs round in circles chasing the ball and fouls people.

They should give it to one of the future team, Milner or Dawson.

Parker is an amazing player, who was wasted at Chelsea. A great talent from young, a true sportsman!

He even insisted on shaking the Arsenal players hand on Sunday before leaving the field, which is a real sporting gesture, you won't see that from Gerrard!

Great choice IMO, he deserves it, haven't seen a captain who wears their heart on their sleve since the days of Beckham/Shearer. Suppose Parker's determination on the field reminds Pearce of himself back in the early 90's.

They should give it to one of the future team, Milner or Dawson.

What influence on the pitch do either of those have? Dawson isn't that good, a second behind Ledley King at spurs sometimes. He isn't loud enough on the field to make any impact.

Milner? Need I even shed a comment on him? Rough, spiteful, and a ball hog on the field sometimes. Once again, no leadership characteristics and plays football for money, proved when he joined shitteh. He is still learning.

You can't tell me I am wrong either, because, I'm spot on.

Love this statement.

Captaincy = Role model, strong leader, might not necessary be the best player but able to bring out the best in others.

Parker meets those requirements aside from the sending off recently but meh. He someone that the rest of the country/team can look up to.

Yeah ok fella. A total workhorse and defo deserves to lead Engand out. Terry is a fucking disgrace, can't see any racist stuff coming from Parker and he also plays for the best team in the league. Yid Army !

Strong ones, to be fair I just plucked those names out of a hat. Dawsons got a big mouth on him though.

I agree Scotty will do an half decent job tonight but he's never gonna captain them more than 3 times. And if he was "all that" he would have made it at Chelsea. He's not crap by any means, but he just runs round and fouls.

For the record, I agree on the scott parker front, he plays hard, but looses his rag pretty easily.

Your joking right? Shocking mentality, only cares about himself..
Hardly a true leader.

Good call by Pearce for Parker IMO.

He makes dirty challenges and picks up cards from stupid un-needed fouls.

Parker was the perfect choice for captain and he is no proving why with his performance so far

Dom

England are playing well IMO so far, Parker is being commanding, you can hear him!

Finally some football from England that i'm enjoying watching, unlike what it was under Capello's reign.

England play considerably better football without fat frank and stevie me me me and their egos in the middle. Welbecks still shite though.

Dom

I think I proved my point earlier as well, Milner is shite, and lazy in the centre of the field. Someone get that lad a taxi before he gets any worse. Its as if he don't want the ball at his feet!

Dom

Torn a new arsehole, due to Milners poor touch/control.

Fair play from Robben though, awesome run, unstoppable shot.

It would seem you cant read very well. As it doesnt say anything about them being better in the middle does it. Infact it says England are better Without:homme::hug:

Being a united fan ive watched welbeck many a time, he has a fantastic workrate, but his finishing is poor on the best of days. He also has a tendency to run into parts of the pitch where theres nothing on. He has potential but currently id rather see players infront of him at united let alone England.

name players you would prefer ahead of him other than rooney/hernandez

he gets the nod because he may not be as you say the best finisher but he still scores which is more than can be said for the other strikers at united.

you give wellbeck the right service he will finnish them he has unbelievable pace/power

Hernandez being infront of him would be a pick for sure. Berbatov is a better finisher, and his footballing brain is better even if he's lazy. Welbeck needs to sort out his strength he falls over and trips over himself a fair bit, hes a bit like bambi in that sense.

No reply to what I highlighted then :zainy:

berbatov may be a better finisher but he has no confidence atm and can't score for shit.

wellbecks pace alone create's chances for his team :fcuk:

It's rubbish. He's in the top list of players for tackles this season but not for fouls.

Yeah right theres knowone even in the same league as Gerrard, the euros will be his last tournament before giving up international football. Then people will see what their missing.Micah Richards would be a good long term idea for captain.(waits laughing for the slaters):fcuk:

Richard's needs to develop massively, but I can see where you're coming from. Just.

However, Gerrard is useless. I'd rather see my disabled Grandmother play in place of him.

Some of the comments on here are ridiculous scotty Parker is a credit to the game just because he doesn't score 30 goals a season doesn't mean he is shit watch a spurs game and look at his work rate on and off the ball he is top draw , he has brought football back to the premier league he is not the best all round player by far but he plays football how it should simple passing doesn't do any fancy tricks makes tackles ( believe it or not it is a part of the game) its just all the players that go down and play up to the ref that causes players to get yellow carded or sent off which stops players making tackle. Parker is the right man for the job England need a player to boss the midfield and control the tempo of the game and Scott's your man
