well lads, just a quick question, i know the codes on the box will let you know which car the box is from, but from every car are there any differences in the box'es that come from that car? Like in the GTI/VTS there are 8 different box codes, are all these box'es the exact same or do they have different ratio's??

Hey guys!
I have an urgent question.
My 2nd gear has gone / pops out of gear now ...
Its going to need a new gearbox :/

Would a gearbox for another saxo from the year 2001 (same litre engine 1.1)
fit my saxo year 1999 1.1 litre?

I cannot retrieve the chassis code from the 2001 vehicle :(

yes, you could put a GTi box on if you wanted :)

all gti boxes are the same... in ratios ect

there are some differences in casings ... later ones are stronger, have more external webs.. where the reverse idler shaft goes inside the box is different design

so the different codes probally are just age related.
