Yep its not a saxo, and i know its not french, but i tought i would make a thread for you guys over here. (im bored)
I am now the owner of this Titanium Silver BMW E46 323ci.
Needs a few bits and pieces, includng new front bumper, new headlights and a bit of rust sorting under the boot. Also needs a wishbone and wheel bearing, and maybe a new throttle cable.
But all in all nothing major :)
I wont actually be driving it untill end of june.
Once the saxo is finished i will be doing a bit to this.
Here is a few pics after a quick wash before it started raining again:

http://i1116.photobucket.com/albums/k566/rickycrone/IMAG0177.jpg
Bodged on M3 bumper, as you can see its to wide for the car as an M3 has wider arches.
http://i1116.photobucket.com/albums/k566/rickycrone/IMAG0178.jpg
http://i1116.photobucket.com/albums/k566/rickycrone/IMAG0179.jpg
http://i1116.photobucket.com/albums/k566/rickycrone/IMAG0180.jpg
Plans are:
Remove rear window tints.
Fit wishbone and wheel bearing + full service.
Fit new thermostat.
Fit M-Sport or Standard coupe front bumper and new number plates.
Fit new throttle cable and clean throttle body out.
Fit new headlighs with CCFL/LED halo rings and smoked indicators.
Fit 18" CSL Reps or similar 18" wheels.
Fit New back box (current is blowing abit and tail pipe is dented)
And that will be about it, then just enjoy it come june when the saxo is gone and this is on the road :)

I have ordered a load of goodies this weekend so hopefully it will all arrive by next weekend and i can get cracking :)
Ive ordered:
Thermostat & housing
Front left wishbone
Front drop links
Smoked indicators
Smoked side repeators
Oil filter
Fuel filter
K&N pannel filter
Bosch super4 spark plugs
Hand brake shoes & fitting kit.
Just need to find a new front bumper and buy a throttle cable :y:
Decided to go for some 18" MV1 Wheels, so keeping an eye out for a set, probably going to run them with spacers, 25mm rear, and 20mm front to fill the arches out.
Eventually i will probably buy coilovers but see how it goes sorting everything else out first :)

well technically it wasnt free, recently my parents have sold their house and said they would give both me and my brother £1000 each, but mother wanted to sell her car so i had that instead of the £1000.
Mehh another bmw and not even an m3 :homme:

Me, jelous? Would rather drive a corsa then a low spec bmw. I use to like these but since them going so cheap they're so common now, the local chavs have these and think they're 'drifters'
Tbh E36 coupe or E90 ftw :y:
rick_VTR
19th March 2012, 13:31
Okay fella :)
hardly low spec tho.
yeah its not an M3 or even an 'M-sport'
but its still a 323ci, 2.5l straight six, 170bhp standard. rear wheel drive. full electric refinements, half leather, aircon etc...
i dont think i am a 'drifter'
and i think you will find that the E36 is what alot of 'Chavs' drive due to them being peanuts to buy.
someones abit bitter.

Hey man! whats up with E36's! lol.
don't really see chavs in BM's round my way, but the few knobs you do see tend to have low spec E36/E46's because they're cheapo.

Nothing mate, i like them :)
same case round my way, they dont cruise round in 323/325/330's ect, usualy 316/318's with very bad wheels/other mods lol.
Just singhy saying he would rather drive a corsa than the Bimmer i have, cant see why anyone would do that if they had the choice tbh.

+1 on that. much more to the car than it's engine size. (ironically, a 323 still boasts a bigger engine than any euqally priced corsa too ;) )
lol gibbo, e46 is a tidy step up for asians after their 20 year old CRX falls to bits [/stereotyping]

Keep it clean and e46's can look really good, I personally dislike them and doubt id own one even in M guise..
Alpina theme would look best IMO, not keen on the e46 ACS kits.

i will be keeping it pretty standard looking.
internals will be staying standard except possibly a stainless cat back system.
MV1 18" wheels
Some form of front bumper splitter on the standard bumper, and then maybe coilovers but wont be lowering much, just enough so the arches look spot on with the wheels once they are spaced out :)
No need to do anything else really in my opinion, it was made as it is for a reason :)

4th April 2012, 17:43
Well i now have everything i need to give the car a full service.
and all the following...
Got thermostat to change & flush the coolant system.
New bumper ready to fit, just need to sort out the carrier - its abit twisted (possibly get a new one if i cant straighten it)
Got 25mm spacers for rear and 20mm spacers for front.
Got all the stuff to get rid of the rust under the boot.
Got the front left wishbone ready to replace.
Just need to get the wheels refurbished.
Then its time for some tuning art coilovers and shortened drop links for some lows :D
But it doesnt look like i will be getting much done this weekend with all the snow were having here at the moment
Then MOT, TAX and Insurance and it will be on the road on the 1st July for (hopefully) the sunny weather :panic:

nah i got a standard Coupe one mate, keeping it looking standard-ish.
and that bumper that was on there was for an M3 lol, thats why its to wide for the car and doesnt line up on the arches.
wierd that, mines the 2.5 170bhp.

ah yea sorry my mistake, i mistook it for my bumper lol
the facelift model seems to have different set of engines to your shape, also seems to depend on if you have a normal coupe or the m-sport coupe its all a bit over complicated lol what sort of interior do you have? i have the full leather cream interior with the wooden dash inserts ha i feel like my dad when im driving it wish it had come with the black leather and carbon inserts but hey ho its lovely to drive compared to the my saxos, they felt like a bag of nails when i got back in them lol

thats a bit of a bugger.
these engines are normaly good for 200K + though? guess its all down to how its driven and looked after.
think mines approx 100K dont know exactly as my old man changed the clocks in it when the others fucked up last year when it was on 90K and now it reads 78K lol.

Bit of progress on this :)
Got my bumper
http://i1116.photobucket.com/albums/k566/rickycrone/IMAG0214.jpg
but just waiting on new corner brackets to arrive to fit it.
when fitting my smoked indicators i realised the inner wing was crumpled:
http://i1116.photobucket.com/albums/k566/rickycrone/IMAG0194.jpg
http://i1116.photobucket.com/albums/k566/rickycrone/IMAG0193.jpg
http://i1116.photobucket.com/albums/k566/rickycrone/IMAG0192.jpg
these pics were in the process of straightening it, (no after pics)
so straightened that as good as possible and bought a new headlight because it was cracked, and got my smoked indicators and side repeaters on
http://i1116.photobucket.com/albums/k566/rickycrone/IMAG0213.jpg
Engine oil & Filter, fuel filter and plugs ready to do a service :)
http://i1116.photobucket.com/albums/k566/rickycrone/IMAG0211.jpg
when i was changing the air filter for my K&N panel filter i noticed this:
http://i1116.photobucket.com/albums/k566/rickycrone/IMAG0216.jpg
so i removed the jubilee clip and taped it up and it works fine now :D
Coilovers are on there way and so are the wheel spacers.
So i can fit them and the wishbone & drop links at the same time. :D

and its a case of a 2hour round trip to my nearest BMW to get a £12 part.
the car isnt even on the road yet so im sure tape on the boot for now will be better than an open split in the boot...

old rear suspension was fucked.
http://i1116.photobucket.com/albums/k566/rickycrone/IMAG0242.jpg
tops of the shocks were actually rotten and destorted to shit!
http://i1116.photobucket.com/albums/k566/rickycrone/IMAG0241.jpg
new wishbones and got some powerflex bushes pressed into my mounts
http://i1116.photobucket.com/albums/k566/rickycrone/IMAG0251.jpg
also fitted powerflex arb bushes front and rear and new front droplinks, needless to say the car handles 100% better than what it did before and drives so much better.
the coilovers are set pretty much as high as possible for the time being.
im picking up some E38 fitment style 32" wheels tomorrow, so when i get new tyres and get them on i will adjust the suspension to to suit :D

got my proper sized tyres fitted today. nice bit of stretch on the rears.
falkens on the front and toyos on the rear.
need to add some negative camber to the rear because the tyres catch ever so slightly going round fast corners and up steep hills so that will get done.
heres a few pics i took quickly in the rain this afternoon :)
