View Full Version : Bolts in the rear axle?

Hello

So my rear axle squeaks when going over bumps but there is no play so my first port of call will be the ARB end plate bolts.

What size are they? I know 13mm but M6, M8, M10??

Where do I get high tensile ones from?

Any other bolts in the rear axle worth replacing while I am there?

Cheers

or exhaust rubbing as stupid as that sounds. it could be rubbing on rear axle or a heat shield.

Cheers guys, it's not the exhaust, definitely the axle.

Will replace those bolts and grease everything up :)

i got some high tensile ones from swampy
the standard bolts snap so easily and are right bastards to get out sometimes.

you might find you need to tighten the arb itself onto the end plate. Theres a thread about it somwhere, but it involves using a socket and long bolt to tighten the arb and end plate together. Then just do up the end plate bolt :)

Yeah think I will give that a go on Thursday, would order them off swampy but they won't be here by then.

Will pop to screwfix I think, they seem to do boxes of 50 for a reasonable price, trying to build up a bolt and nut collection anyway lol
