Not really had the time to post up my progress but the car is coming along nicely since it was purchased for my partner. She is still learning to drive and using the Saxo to save the miles on the Trophy and also the fuel. At present I am saving approx £20 per week in the VTR!
First impression of the car was the brakes were very poor (my 182 are uprated) but the car is very 'nimble' and easy to park. The best thing about this car is the servicing costs (can do most of the work myself having owned 10 Ax's) as the parts are ridiculously cheap. Bought a centre exhaust section yesterday for £18!
Anyway on to the car itself and the work required to get this little 'beauty' back to its best. The car is completely standard other than a replacement head unit. It has the original suspension, original exhaust and original wheels. Before purchasing the car off my brother, he had a replacement rear beam, brakes replaced all round and majority of the front suspension components were changed.
Of late I have given the car a full service, replaced the gearbox oil, full exhaust system from the cat back and sprayed the rusty wiper arms. Hopefully in the near future my partner wants me to get the front bumper re-sprayed (has some damage on 1 corner) and get the door check strap backet welded as it has been ripped away from the chassis.
Will get some pics up soon of both the Saxo and the Trophy which is being refurbed at the moment. Got my dampers back from BG Motorsport yesterday and they are ready for spray up today!
