Okay guys, here goes.

Some of you know I start my new job soon, and I decided I'm growing up, and should start turning my life around.

Tonight I've started a new work out regime. I'm following the 5x5 method and it is as below:

Workout A
Squat 5x5
Bench Press 5x5
Barbell Rows 5x5

Workout B
Squat 5x5
Overhead Press 5x5
Deadlift 1x5

I started with workout B as I wanted to see if I was comfortable with the weight I was using.

My starting body weight is 144lbs.

The weight Im using is 30lb, 40lb on deadlift.

Yeah, I know it's not a lot, but every cycle the weight goes up 5lb (10lb for deadlift)

During my first workout, I had tunnel vision, and was very conscious to my body and my positioning.

I think this will go after a few weeks.

I did 15 press ups before, with 10lb dumbells I did 20 bicep curls.

And after the regime I did 15 more press ups, and had plenty of water

Can anyone give me some pointers to what to focus on? Food? Weight? Technique etc.

Thanks in advance

You want a weight that's more challenging than comfortable whilst maintaining good technique. Food wise, eat your 3 meals a day, and if you feel you need to snack inbetween eat something healthy like a portion of fruit etc.
