Just come back from having an engine diagnostic, and came up with the code p0420. It's the catalytic converter and apparently the O2 sensor out of parameter.
They wanted £250 quid to replace the cat and O2 sensor. Bit steep I think. So going to get the parts myself and tackle it myself with a friend who's a mechanic.
Where's the best place to source these parts?
Also is it fine to run with a dodgy sensor and cat converter? For a few days at least?

thats not too bad of a price mate.
for me who gets trade for a decent bosal cat it were around the £150 mark (i think that were +vat)
and the lamda sensor would be around £20 ish. so say £170+£50 labor +vat.
doesn't see too bad now does it.
ofcourse i could get a cheaper one for £70

Not working at the moment, so the cheaper option is more appealing. What would be the difference between a cheap one and a more expensive one? Longevity?
Seen some on europarts for around £50. Any experience with the brand?

Also, the garage turned the light of, drove for about 100 miles today, the light has not returned. Surely it would have returned if it was fucked?
