vtr eml on and running rough

My mate owns a 2002 vtr when he got in the car this morning his eml light was on
He said it's lost low end power and when he pulled into the car park it was idleing funny said it kept dropping under 1k rpm and spluttering like it was guna stall then would rise again
Any have and idea what it could be?

Common sense comes into play, get a code reader on it and it will tell you.

He works away 4days a week so hasn't had time untill he gets home which won't be for a few days, was just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem

Thing is mate it can be sooo many things. His lucky the EML has come on because it will prob tell him the problem some people don't have the EML come on, and spend £££'s.

Sounds like the coil pack

Need to check the ignition system.

Remove the plugs and check their condition.

If its not them then get another coilpack.

Could be a million things bringing that light on... Well maybe not a million get it scanned pal

ignition, check your coilpack and spark plugs

Ill get him to check his plugs when he gets time, he has it booked into a garage so will be put on diagnostics
