Ok guys im making a few sets of door cards for me and my mates would anyone be interested in buying them. They are made from wood and vinyl wrapped in carbon, with the saxo door handles / 106 handles cut out. They look like the streamline ones but obv not real carbon.

What would you expect to pay ?
Would you be interested ?

Thanks guys

surely just some cheap thin acrylic would be better than wood?

People only buy the streamline carbon ones as they are very light and cover the holes up on the door.
But a block of wood wrapped in carbon vinyl and bolted to the door isn't going to be light now is it.

Well ule be suprised how light they are, lighter than my standard furio door cards.

use sticky tape round the edges to stop the rattles

Even tho i would rather something that absorbs the sound then something that reflects it.

Hope your looking into advertising properly, or you'll get reported like I did off all the ppl who arent willing to pay but want to sell!!

Wouldn't make them from wood either, I'm wanting to do some in acrylic/PVC and flock them, kits like the carbon fibre ones ppl buy but obviously flocked instead, but I'm not allowed to sell anything ubtil a decision has been made... so that's not looking like its happening soon :p

I thought about doing them in plastic told my dad and he said best in wood, better sound when listening to your cd's so i looked it up and i realised what he was saying. And im sure you was just doing a similar thing to what im doing asking not actually selling so to speak

will they fit an m3 ?

I was initially but now I'm all set up, but got reported for trying to sell stuff I'd flocked, so can't sell until I get an answer on whether I can trade on the site

Well this isnt actually a "selling thread" as if it was i would get reported just testing the water you could say.

I am after peoples opinions and prices to what they would pay for them.

you are retarded, the difference in weight in the two is going to be grams, fivers worth of petrol is going to weigh more

i had some made out of thin ply in my sax, covered in satin black vinyl, looked spot on

and to be fair i dont think there would be a problem with you selling a few sets, its more to the people who are making a living out of selling things that need to be affiliates, not a couple of door cards being sold

Have a think on how much all the materials cost, how much time it takes to make a set - and go from there.

If you put a lower price (obviously still making a profit) you'll sell a lot more than if you set a higher one. Stands to reason.

Materials cost around the £20 Mark, time is about 2hrs so i was thinking around £40 I think that is fair and thanks btw :)

Depends you need to expand

£40 is pretty much the figure I was thinking.

I think you'd get a fair amount of business that way, although still got problems with the whole stupid saxperience affiliates rules

i was very sceptical when i started reading this thread, but they look really good!

if the others you make look like that too, then they are worth £40 all day long :)

So £40 it will be then, what i am going to do is make about 10sets say and then just post in the forsale section think thats best.

Thanks mate i had a feeling about the vinyl not sticking to one side of the wood and i was right but it stuck firmly on the front and as its screwed in no pealing will occur.
Set price will be £40 then :)
