I've got some shitty Sony cd player in the Clio I just bought and every time you start the car it coms on really loud and I've got to quickly turn it down. Rather annoying, wonder if anyone can shed some light on that to

After downloading the manual ( http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/CDX-M600R ) and searching for "loud" I can conclude that it doesn't have a loud feature.

Loud doesn't make it louder, just increases the settings at lower levels.

It's also a possibility that your facia is used in a few models, one of which may contain a loud setting. If your doesn't have the setting it could still be on the front. If it has one they are normally pretty easy to find.

And why are you bumping this every 10 seconds? Not like it's really urgent is it?

Maybe something to do with the equalizer, I have an equalizer setting on mine called Xplod which makes everything 'bassier' and seem louder

Are you sure its meant to light up, or does it just say loud, like it will say mp3 and stuff.. Just to show you features..

All loud actually does is turns bass and treble up to a pre set number you know... Doesnt make your speakers louder or anything..

It only makes it seem louder when the volume level is low, say below 15. If you had the treble and bass levels as high as they are below 15 at 35+ the majority of speakers would distort. I assure you it only makes a difference when you have the volume level low. I've even tried it, at volume 10, nice noticeable difference, at 20, no difference whatsoever.
