I've seen a lot of threads about this but there's never really a conclusive answer.
do i take the drum off? and do i need a special type of paint, or for example could i just use halfrauds paint? and is it the same process for like wings e.t.c like sand down, prime, paint lacquer, or just paint it? cheers :y:

Leave the drum on, just mask up the are behind so you don't get over spray.
I used Hycote Red high temp spray paint when I had drums. Came out like a matte effect but colour stayed along time without the need the re paint.

You don`t have to take the drum off it just saves masking up if you`re spraying them as opposed to hand painting them.Personally i`d use a wire brush on an electric drill, get all the surface rust off 1st then either brush hammerite or spray hammerite on.Just make sure that the drums are free of grease.(degreasing agent)

Its very simple mate :wall:
Sand off rust mask and paint.
Why would you need to take it off?
Normal hammerite paint will be fine, dear meh laddae.
