hi guys i have just been offered a stainless 4-2-1 manifold for a steal bt it was fitted to a mk1 1.1 will this fit a vtr or not. as have been told yes and then got told by someone else no. even if it doesnt it was still a steal and can always sell on.

manifold is made by cobra so a good make

As long as both cars have the same oil filter setup then it will fit (metal spin on filters)

All 8v port spacings are the same, so should fit. however, i am also sure i read that the 1.1's were different.

i will say 99% it will fit though, worth a punt if it is cheap !

£40 plus postage only a week old. removed due to putting car back to standard to sell on. the only thing that might be different is the fitting to cat i thought but can be cut and standard mounting from downpipe from vtr fitted if need be

i did hear that the head/engine is slightly angled on the 1.1 compared to the 1.4/1.6 8v.

besideds if it were made for a 1.1 surely the bore of the pipes are going to restric the vtr

brought it recieved it, and lets just say the bloke selling it was a nob as he didnt say it had one of the bends cut and bodged with a sleeve. but has no leaks and will be heat wrapped anyway so no big trouble. yes it fits but is a little bit on the tight side when fitting as the studs are so close to the manifold it was a nightmare getting any form of tool onto nuts to do up properly so lots of shouting and swearing but it now on and looks much better and should help engine. so yes guys a manifold from a 1.1 does fit the vtr.

i know was totally fucked off when it arrived and ebay didnt help either as found it in his favour even though they saw the original listing and were sent pics of it when recieved. bloody joke really. i could get it cut out and have a proper bend put back in but would cost more than the manifold probably
