Sledge hammer and large drift always works
Never had a puller or slider hammer be up to the task

+1 solid bar and sledge hammer, when i did mine i lined up the bar with the end of the torsion bar and rested it on a crate so i could get a good swing at it with the hammer ;)

Drift would be better just use something softer than the torsion bar so you don't damage it

just put a bolt in the end and hit on that then you won't damage the end

and then potentially damage the threads and have a bolt stuck in it . . . :geek:

don't see how it would damage the threads if the head of the bolt is tight up against the end of the bar but i guess it could.. just how i did mine anyways

When I did one in the past I heated were the torsion bar sits (not sure what it its called) and it expanded just enough and came out. Could you try that? Be carefull of brake lines.

Loadsa wd40 , heat gun and a big hammer , make sure you've got all four offset washers out , if all fails drop axle off the car much easier .

use the socket and bolt method on the one side of the bar wilst thrashing it with a big hammer from the other thats how i have alwase done mine... the socket and bolt keeps a constant tension in the torsion bar and the thrashing you give it seems to get it out alot easyer...
