A quick introduction, I gained an interest in hillclimbs/sprints after building a hot spec'd classic Mini 4 years ago.

Managed a few events in 2008/2009 but after losing my job in summer 2009 due to the company I worked for folding, funds became to tight to justify a track toy :(

As time has past the Mini is still SORN and with better but still limited funds I fancied getting back in to competing. So after owning my 2001 VTR for 12 months with only minor maintanance I have decided to get back and compete in a "road class" speed series :)

The car in question:

So I thought I would use this site to keep a kind of blog on progress, mods and feedback as to how it all goes.

Cheers, regs are pretty tight as its an invitation class for road cars in a speed series aimed at classic mini's.

Induction and exhuast are free, so is suspension as long as it doesn't alter any original mountings or change layout.

tyres are free but must remain road legal, light stripping is allowed but nothing extreme.

Its aimed at keeping cost's down and preventing someone with money to burn domminating the series.

I'm in it for fun and a personal challenge and also to show that motorsport doesn't have to cost mind blowing money.
