View Full Version : Most active region?

craig180
19th March 2012, 12:22
I remember, back in the day when I were a lad, and Saxperience was young that the Yorkshire region used to be most active, with loads of meets and Wakefield being the global epicentre of Sax-P with about 97% of the members.

Some of those members have now moved on and the majority of the rest now have lives, so Yorkshire doesn't seem to be the most active nowadays. So which region is?

Do other regions still have "regular" meets or has the whole purpose of the "Regional Meets Official" now been diminished?

Discuss.

West Midlands..... bollocks! Meets happen once every now and then and even when they're organised, so many people will say yeah yeah I'll come and on the day 3 out of 20 turn up!

WM needs improving, and wm members need to fix up :homme:

Yorkshire used to be a fantastic region. As you said though, people have new priorities now.

I've always seen posts coming up in the EM region. Not sure if that's still the case?

SW, normally have a meet each month with the 106oc tagging along also.

But I think the region sections need to be made more showy, not many people know about them.

I've not really been a active community member, I've only attended 2 Southwest meets ( 1 without a saxo lol)
But I agree, the regional section is tucked away, likely unnoticed by newbies :geek:

i think noobs get shy about coming to meets because they think the more active users know each other really well IRL.

It needs to be more welcoming for newbies IMO.

Scotland used to be EPIC.... now me drew and stu ALWAYS try to arrange things and noone ever can make it. I blame the price of fuel! We got in trouble for having too much spamming going on in our region...

This is the reason we're all piling in together to come to Bolton Abbey!

WM used to be the most busy a few year ago. East mids has been dead since it started. Northern Ireland is apparently really busy as this one guy wants his own section for it..

Yorkshire meets always used to be the best, even from my days on 106oc.

No meet will ever top this...

North west is ok we have meets once every other month unless there's another big on like Bolton abbey/fcs etc coming up have had a few good turns outs over the past few which isn't bad considering we didn't have any rmo's till 6months ago

As said, Bolton Abbey is the closest to a "national" meet we have.

I was hoping to organise a synchronised meet in the south this year but been manic!

Lacey_106

South is best, except for meets. The south's best meet can be found at Southend, after spending 20 minutes there you have already contracted AIDS and are considering LIDL as the best place to spend your career when you aren't pushing babies out.
