Hi all,
im new to sax-p so just thought i should introduce myself and the car.
i bought this car back in september for £350 with 6 months tax and mot which i thought wasnt bad cause i only planned on using it for a run around. ive owned 8 cars within the first year and a half of driving and 6 of them have been french, you cant beat a good old frenchy ! (no write off's thankfully PHEEW!)

ive now decided to keep the vtr as its not let me down during the time ive had it so from yesterday she now has 12 months MOT and 6 months tax..

Modifications;
2 1/2" exhaust system with a 2" out rolled tip at the back
gti-6 cyclones in black (will need refurb and re-sprayed in white)
team heko wind deflectors

Future Modifications:
16v conversion, with ph3 cams and remap
205 gti speedlines not sure what colour though or vts wheels in white
read lowered 60mm front about 50mm (looking for a even look, not just ass end on the floor lol)
re-spray in polar white, with gloss trim (£400 it's not what you know, it's who you know ;))
maybe a vtr spoiler.. not 100% sure though
Full respray in white with gloss black bump strips
106 gti leathers
Big brake conversion (206 or 306 gti)
Headlights with a black tint


any comments and advice would be much appreciated !

How she stands currently as my recent funds are now going towards a twin garage big enough for about roughly 3 cars which me and a friend will be sharing while he builds his turbo project :)!

I might even keep the cyclones and get them done white, what do you think?

Also was just minutes away from getting a 16v and due to girlfriends arguementative ways I forgot all about bidding and got outbid last minute! Arghh :|!

For the time being I'm going to use the vtr box untill I come across a decent vts or rallye for a reasonable price, appreciate the advice though mate and is there a noticeable difference with the 1.3 rallye box and a vtr or vts box?

Picking up the 16v Saturday for £170 including loom, ecu, rad, mani and everything else I need apart from a fan ! Also has a set of leathers which are mint and said £250 for the lot.. Very temped !

Also does anyone know if setting up a fuel return is simple or would you recommend someone that could help with that?

Picked up the 16v yesterday just need a fan, engine mount and figure out how to plumb a fuel return.
Decided to opt out for the leather as it would leave me without a penny and I only got paid yday :/ £170 is a bargain in my eyes, so while it's out the car I'm going to freshen it up an maybe a rebuild before I put it in.

I own a p reg saxo vtr single plug and have just bought a 16v but it was from a 106 still a single plug ecu though, but after a conversation with pug1off I've just been told I'll have to send my ecu to them to have it rewired cause apparently it's not plug in and play. Can anyone confirm if this is true as they're asking for £120 for the work!

I also do have the gti loom and unlocked gti ecu

the ecu's are the same between vts and gti but the looms are different. buy a single plug vts loom and you're sorted :y:

Can anyone else confirm this, not saying that your lieing I just want as much accurate information as possible :)

Just a little update as money's been a bit tight but things are starting to look up now. I've purchased 106 1/2 leathers, started to spray my cyclones in gloss white to match the car after the respray of course lol. Also got myself a new front number to clean it up a bit untill the French pressed plates have been ordered 8k hid's, a blue trs tow strap and blanking rubber things for when I de-wiper it.
Last on my list will be new rear axle picking up on the weekend already down 60mm and 50mm springs for the front :D!

Had to go 16v maye the engines tapping its tits off :| and the 16v was cheap! Also the leathers only cost my £60. Tbf most of the parts have been bargains :D and also replaced the door vtr badges with vt? Ones instead.


Cheers for all the comments guys! I'll try and keep tho thread updated a much as possible, as soon as I've got the loom the engine will be going in along with Newman ph3 cams and a remap. Looking for figures of around 150bhp mark ;) BANG TIDY!

Just a quick update on how the carbismlooking now, sitting on 205 gti speedlines and lowered with 106 gti half leather seats :)!
It's a bit arss down IMO but never the less she's slammed :D!

car looks nice but in my opinon white on white is not the best, i would have gone dark grey for the wheels. but still like the rest of the car.

Looks really good in this photo! Raise the back up a bit and get some centre caps for the wheels, and it be spot on!! No spoiler either.
