I was in the police station today and i though i'd ask about the legality of coloured side lights and under car neons. I know the side lights are an MOT failure if they're not white but i thought i'd ask how road legal they are.
As it turns out, nether are legal when you're moving but if you're stationary it's legal.

When you don't have a job cheap mods are all you can do.

You could always save your money?
I don't have a job currently either, and so; I don't spend money on a car...

I'm sure you're a really decent person but every thread you post you seem like an idiot.
Can we please have less talk about stickers and neons. Contrary to popular beleift they do not add 12bhp.
If I were you I'd save my money, so you can spend it on something you really want. It might mean you have to drive a standard car for a little while, but once you can mod it you will be doing something worthwhile that you actually like. If you do these silly things now not only will you waste your money but you will look like a twat.
I'm saying this as a concerned citizen not to be a cunt.

I was just saying what i've been told as on a previous post some people had said they were legal and some not so i asked. All i've done is spend a few quid here and there on things i want and i like. Why can't i do things to my car without being ripped. Not everyone wants a standard car. So what if i want to cover it in a million stickers? I know it won't make it go faster but i want to personalise my car so i will do.

it may feel personal to you, but will look chavvy to everyone else. However, it is your car indeed. With neons and stickers, expect to be pulled over on a regular basis. Then I don't get why you would asking about the legality of things if you're going to do it your way anyway.

Fair enough. Its your money to waste as you will.
But if you post up pictures or threads about things like this the majority of people on here will not like it.
You have to expect some abuse.

I'm not having neons. Too Fast and Furious for my liking. All i've done is add £4's worth of stickers to personalise it to me.
OP this isn't about me, this was me sharing a piece of information i received today.

Whew, scared me for a sec.. You will eventually get tired of these stickers when they start peeling and fading. Not the best of mods as they may leave marks and uneven shades of paint.

You'll be fine with the sidelights and most probably the neons unless they have nothing else to do. As the police can't pull you over for no reason anymore, they'll see those, think boy racer (the saxo not helping the image), and pull you over. If you've got a switch you can just turn them off and i don't think you'll have any problems.

I only said about the sidelights because my avatar is with blue lights
Anyway with stickers and such, I would say. Use your own opinion whether it looks good or not, as you are the owner and not another persons decision

be very careful on the definition of stationary as its probably not what you think it it. Its like with mobile phone you can still be done for using them even if your stopped at lights or in a car park. Stationary is a dead stop in a legal/safe place with the ignition turned off.
